A’Ibom at 35: Non Indigenes Hail Gov Emmanuel over Peace, Security, Devt Stride

… Reiterate Support for Pastor Umo Eno for Sustainability

As Akwa Ibom State marks its 35th anniversary of state creation, non indigenes in the state under the aegis of Akwa Ibom non Indigene Community (ANIC) have commended Governor Udom Emmanuel over the peace, security and developement strides in the state.

The commendation was made Thursday during the group’s press briefing in Uyo. Addressing members of the press, the Coordinator of the Group, Elder Onoriode Obareki applauded the excellent leadership of Governor Udom Emmanuel most especially for the peace and security enjoyed by residents of the State.

Elder Obareki said the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel has attracted more local and foreign investors to Akwa Ibom State which according to him, has boosted economic activities of the State.

He maintained that Akwa Ibom State is rated as one of the fastest growing States in terms of economic activities and world class social amenities provided by Governor Udom Emmanuel’s administration, adding that Akwa Ibom State is a tourist destination in Nigeria.

On who will succeed Governor Udom Emmanuel in 2023, Elder Obareki said the group is solidly in support of Pastor Umo Eno/Senator Akon Eyakenyi. He said that Pst Umo Eno is the only Governorship Candidate that will continue on the developmental strides of Governor Udom Emmanuel to move Akwa Ibom State forward.

Elder Obareki called on both indigenes and non indigenes of Akwa Ibom State to support Pastor UmoEno/Senator Akon Eyakenyi ticket for more economic and social development and for the better future of the State.

He appealed for more support for PDP Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubaka, saying that with PDP at the center more opportunities will be created which will be benefitted to all Nigerians.

Obareki however kicked against tribalism and religious sentiment in Nigeria and called on Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, Ijaw, and other communities in Akwa Ibom State to support the fight against tribalism to strengthen the unity among the diverse tribes in Nigeria.
